8:22 Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord ¹  that he may perhaps forgive you for the intent of your heart. ²

[8:22]  ¹ tn Or “and implore the Lord.”

[8:22]  ² tn Grk “that if possible the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.” The passive construction is somewhat awkward in contemporary English and has thus been converted to an active construction in the translation.

[8:15]  ³ tn Grk “who.” The relative pronoun was replaced by the phrase “these two” and a new sentence was begun in the translation at this point to improve the English style.

[12:5]  ⁴ tn Or “constantly.” This term also appears in Luke 22:14 and Acts 26:7.

[12:5]  ⁵ tn Grk “but earnest prayer was being made by the church to God for him.” The order of the clauses has been rearranged to follow English style, and the somewhat awkward passive “prayer was being made” has been changed to the simpler active verb “were praying.” Luke portrays what follows as an answer to prayer.
